- On question: There should be fully funded treatment and research of psilocybin assisted therapy for mental disorders such as treatment-resistant depression and major depressive disorder - The Green Party has led the way in arguing that problem drug use should be a medical and social issue rather than a moral or criminal justice issue. While we strongly support research into the potential benefits of psilocybin, the use of any drug in the treatment of mental health issues should be evidence-led with service-users having the choice of what treatments they receive. On question: There should be full funding for mental health wellbeing centres as an alternative to psychiatric wards - We believe in evidence-based support for people experiencing psychological distress and would like to see the people experiencing distress having more say in the treatment they receive. The voices of those with lived-experience should be centred when commissioning services.
