Comments
- There should be a border poll if and when the majority of people want one. This contentious and delicate discussion should never be used for political grandstanding or point scoring. If there is to be a border poll carefully thought out plans with consultation should be in place before such a poll to avoid further uncertainty and suffering for working class people. If the majority of people want a border poll and there is a roadmap for same (re either result) then I would strongly agree.
- On question: There should be an Irish border poll - We support the Good Friday Agreement and the provisions for a border poll as laid out there. We would hope that if or when those provisions are met the Secretary of State acts as quickly as possible in the spirit of the agreement.
